Eagle Consumer View
Recycled art from the eagles point of view
Up in the sky a lone eagle flies looking down at the mess below. Where did all this come from and so fast? This land was once filled with gigantic trees, is now nothing but material, garbage wrappers, and reflective glass. My sky, the clouds once my friends, now plastic gloves, laundry lint and more material. My eyes show me the truth, the truth is that the world I once knew is now being taken by this “garbage.” Food is now being disguised by styrofoam. I my self am being consumed into adapting. How could these creatures that I once lived in harmony let this happen??
Artist Alicia La Rue asks this same question and communicates these ideas through her art, using consumer waste. She like the Eagle doesn’t understand and believes that Humans are capable of more, and can live in harmony again if they want to.
